Dress Up the Ceremony
If you are having your wedding in a church and you have no decorations, it will just look like any day at church. Adding just a few things to spruce it up, will make it personal and special. Here are several great ways to do just that:
- Add bows or other decorations to the ends of the pews. Put them on every other pew to tone it down.
- Put your choice flowers on the alter to make it more personal and to your own style.
- Add a runner to the aisle, but make sure you really want it. Sometimes these can be hard to unroll during the wedding.
- Put flowers, candles, or both on the windowsills.
- Add a string quartet. This isn’t exactly a decoration, but it does add more ambiance and personality to your wedding ceremony.

- Find ideas for centerpieces. Use your wedding style as inspiration using candles, flowers, plants, and/or abstract art pieces.
- Adorn any windows with foliage or lights.
- Decorate the cake table lightly, being sure to accent the beauty of the cake.
- Keep a minimalist look and throw in a traditional style so that people can enjoy what you have without feeling overwhelmed.
